Unified Mobile Application for New-Age Governance (Umang) app offers citizens access to a range of government and private sector services. Launched in 2017 by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the number of services that the app now offers is over 600. These include PAN, DigiLocker, PPF, National Pension Scheme, Aadhaar and more. The app also allows users to pay utility bills like gas, electricity, mobile etc. Recently, the government added a few more services to Umang app. Here are the four new services that users can check.
1. India Meteorological Department
Now Umang app users can check the weather forecast of their city or the location they are planning to visit in advance
2. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) services
With this, SSC aspirants can get all the information regarding exams, results, vacancies and other latest news.
3. Jan Aushadhi Sugam
Provides details about the availability and pricing of generic medicines at nearby Janaushadhi Kendra stores.
4. National Scholarship Portal
Students can get all the information about various scholarship schemes of the Union and State governments.
