Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique number that is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on behalf of the Government of India to the residents of Indian. Aadhaar serves as residential proof as well as identification proof. It is an important document every citizen of India must-have.

Aadhaar is for individuals; therefore a number issued to an individual shall not be reassigned to any other individual. However, if you’re an Aadhaar cardholder and you are worried that your Aadhaar data could be misused, then you can check your Aadhaar authentication history online.

How to check your Aadhaar authentication history

Steps one can follow to check your Aadhaar authentication history.

Step 1: First, open any browser and visit UIDAI’s official website

Step 2: On the home page, select My Aadhaar.

Step 3: Now, under Aadhaar Services, select the Aadhaar Authentication History.

Step 4: A new page will be opened to check Aadhaar Authentication History.

Step 5: Here, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and Security code.

Step 6: Next, click the Generate OTP option. An OTP is generated and sent to your registered mobile number which is registered with UIDAI or linked with your Aadhaar Card number.

Step 7: Once you will click on Generate OTP, a new window will open displaying Aadhaar Notification Setting.

Step 8: On the new page, you need to select the Authentication type. You will get options for:

  • All
  • Demographic
  • Biometric
  • OTP
  • Demographic & Biometric
  • Biometric & OTP
  • Demographic & OTP

Step 9: After that, you need to select the Data range – Start Date to End Date.

Step 10: After that, you need to fill the Number of Records.

Note: The maximum permissible limit is 50 records.

Step 11: At last, enter the OTP that you received and click Verify OTP.

All details regarding the usage of your Aadhaar Card details will be displayed on the screen. This shows you the date, time, and type of authentication request. However, it does not show what company or agency used your Aadhaar data for authentication.
