How to apply Aadhaar Card for Children below 5 years
For a child who is under 5 years, both father and mother need to accompany the child and any one of the parents will have to present their Aadhar for enrolment.
To apply for an Aadhaar, visit the nearest enrolment centre and fill out the enrolment form and attach the child’s birth certificate along with one parent’s Aadhar card copy. Do not forget to carry the original documents for verification.
In this case, only a child’s photograph is sufficient as no biometrics are taken. Once the child turns 5 to 15, they will have to register all the 10 fingerprints, iris scan and a facial scan.
How to apply Aadhaar Card for Children below 5 to 15 years
Fill up the enrollment form and attach a copy of the school’s identity or bonafide certificate on the letterhead of the institution, address proof and birth certificate. In case, the child does not have any school identity card, one of the parents will have to attach their Aadhaar card along with the identity certificate issued by a Gazetted Officer.
Do note that once the child turns 15, he/she will have to go through the entire process again to get a new Aadhaar Card.
