Ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship has extended the enrollments under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana for the north-eastern region, which will include eight north-eastern states, by two months. The centrally sponsored PMKVY 2016-20 comes to an end for other places across India on March 31.
“In view of the recent lockdown due to COVID-19 crisis, MSDE, after examining the whole scenarios has decided that the last date of enrollment of candidates under centrally sponsored Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 2016-20 to May 31 only for north-eastern region,” ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
“It will remain March 31, 2020 for non-NER states,” it added.
The ministry has advised all states to resume training and orientation within 30 days of the revocation of the lockdown and be completed before August 31,2020 while all assessments and certification should be completed by September 15, 2020.
